The Hat.

[English version below]

In Madrid there’re many sunny days in winter, except for rare occasions when it’s very cold, the rest not so bad. Aside from being one of the coolest hostels in the area , The Hat has a cool terrace raging at the heart of Madrid that will delight the most cosmopolitan ones.
You know I’m on the hunt for the perfect terrace, because I love the sky of Madrid and because it’s a way to stop stepping on asphalt. At the downtown area this is a must: I like the narrow streets and the atmosphere, but sometimes I need to expand my vision.
The Hat is a hostel ( or hostal in Spanish) housed in a former nineteenth century palace less than 200 meters from the Plaza Mayor and very close to Mercado de San Miguel. It’s in the middle of everything , so for traveling with friends is fine (we have all made a trip of those kind) because has rooms for groups besides being modern. If you want to travel with your partner offers very cute double rooms with private bathroom and all.
If there’re hostesses in Madrid, they’re here for sure. And publicists, marketing people, avant-garde artists, actors, foreign people who are studying a master, freeloaders, hipsters and glamorous bohemians. If there’s a place where the moderneo meet but not in a pedantic and snobby place, this is it. Coming from outside , book a room in this hostel and enjoy
Best of all is: it’s no necessary be a guest to drinking at the terrace ;-). Of course, maybe you have to wait a little in the hotel lobby because seating is limited. Although it may seem boredom, has the great advantage that when your turn comes, you’ll enjoy the terrace without strain. The reception is almost a cafeteria, so you can start there your drinking and when your turn comes, going up with it. Above, apart from beer and drinks, also they have some toast and tapas to not drink on an empty stomach. Perfect for a snack with a cocktail . And if you want to see all the terraces that I have found so far, click here.
