Piccola Napoli. My secret pizzeria in Madrid truly Neapolitan style.

* UPDATE *: they have moved very close, to a newer and bigger place, in calle de Palencia, 29, Madrid.

I gonna tell you one of my best secrets. It will not appear in most of the guides because it’s tiny, because no accompanying deco and because it is not in one of the trendiest neighborhoods called Madrid ( yet). But do not make me listen to me if you want, by name in Google and see what is most enthusiastic reviews.

An Italian restaurant hidden in Tetuan is considered by many to be the site where you eat the best pizza in Madrid. Run by Italians and visited by Italians. Not like others, but at Piccola Napoli you go to eat authentic Italian food and not go posing.
It is tiny, we have not gone beyond the area that is near the door, with 6 small tables. If you have booking and present yourself to Mario , the owner, he will call you by your name to ask if everything is okay , if you fancy a freshly made cannoli or an espresso to end the meal.

The prices do not rise , speaking of a lunch menu for € 8 which has pizza , pasta or special of the day with bread , drink and dessert or coffee included . The quality is tremendous, and the homemade taste to the utmost . We were the Epiphany to eat and as always left satisfied and happy. First, salad Piccola Napoli , simple and fresh. Main courses : Sicilian Pizza and Tagliatelle Porcini and something light for dessert, Tiramisu and Cannoli ( we could not avoid).

You could spend many adjectives to pizza : crispy , tasty , freshly made, and so on. The picture speaks for itself . It’s like in one of of those little hidden restaurants in Trastevere.

Our bellies were full, but the dessert were non-negotiable. Tiramisu with a lot of coffee , but with a creamy mascarpone so fluffy that perfectly balanced out . The cannoli much tasty than other Italians allegedly posh. Piccola Napoli doesn’t disappoint!
