If you take it to be #burgerhunter seriously, you know that one of the best New York’s burgers is at Burger Joint. Present in several lists, and hidden in the Parker Meridien Hotel at south of Central Park.
Argentines are the owners of Buger Joint Madrid and Argentinian was the one who opened one in Buenos Aires. And from there to Spain to bring their version of the best burger with Argentine touch.
The place has an industrial atmosphere, with OSB wooden walls to write your message (if you still have chink) and all kinds of tables, from sidewalk at a bar facing the street to a large wooden table to get together with friends. At the counter you order your commands, get a table, and when it’s done, you’ll be notified.
In the daily menu it’s included a drink, a burger, french fries and a piece of chocolate brownie. What else, right? My choice was the Bleu one, with blue cheese, caramelized onions, Portobello mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and arugula. Choosing beer, a craving: Monsieur Gordo, craft beer made at Madrid. I have the custom to first taste the burger without throwing any sauce: when the burger have so many goodies and comes with its mix, if it’s good usually don’t need more. Simply delicious. The terrific bread, not a bun of those that stick to the palate. They dominate the point of meat and hamburger. A fantastic flavour. When someone is a specialist in something, it shows. By the way, not half browned potatoes, golden.
There’re only burgers, of meat and one made of chickpeas. The blend of spices with marinating the meat is a secret. Meat is from a butcher of the neighborhood, and are so sure to offer freshness, they have no refrigerator. They cook the burgers with a coal grill. The bread is homemade each morning. French fries done every day, first soaked to remove the starch and precooked; then fry at the time to be consumed. Whoever wants sauces are also custmized: curry ketchup, mayonnaise with coriander, spicy and honey mustard.
