Summer terraces are something I love; and you know that when I discover one, I give it to you on the sly. I tell you today that I advance you in my post of top terraces of 2016 in Madrid; but today I’ll talk about Casa Corona in depth because it’s much more than a terrace.

With the heat in Madrid we’ll all looking cool and shaded terraces. Today’s case is somewhat special, since it’s one of the place-to-be summer terraces in Madrid, but you can participate in workshops, concerts and much more for free.

In an old building it has raised a real beach bar: in the inner courtyard covered with white canvas and wooden flooring it’s created a “chiringuito” to enjoy with friends. Its colorful Acapulco chairs really do help a lot to get into situation, Coronitas with lime, even more. At one end of the courtyard there’s a bar to order drinks and at the other end a stage for acoustic concerts that’s goingo to celebrate every week.

It’s retained all the charm of a building with over 100 years history giving an atmosphere between Miami and Havana. Black and white checkerboard floors, metal columns and antique wooden doors, all full of moldings at the ceilings and chandeliers. In its interior rooms there’re tables to eat something or have a brunch, but always informally. And speaking of being relaxed and unhurried, it has something very rare: beds. A pair of enormous beds to have breakfast like you’re at home, or get really comfortable.

If that weren’t enough with a so nice terrace, there’re also plenty of activities that you can sign up for free to squeeze the summer. DIY workshops, yoga classes, how to make your own urban garden and surf lessons (yes, surf , so you get to the beach with the lesson learned).
