Get lost by the most impressive rooftops in Madrid in 2018.

If there’s something I love about this city, it’s the good weather, and I’ve already started logging the coolest rooftops in Madrid of 2018. This winter has been longer than usual and I’m looking forward to getting a tan. Don’t you?

I know you haven’t lost the combat during the coldest months, and you haven’t left healthy one of the winter rooftops in Madrid that I have recommended. But now that the good weather is here, it’s time to discover the new rooftops that have opened in 2018 and revisit the classics that never fail.

Mirador Río 2 (Avenida del Manzanares, 210)

Madrid Río Park has become the new green heart of the city, but it lacked something. And that something was one of the bigger rooftops in Madrid of 2018 and with more options to eat. This mall has spectacular views of the Madrid River and is great after a walk along the river. Or before or after a visit to the Invernadero de Arganzuela or Matadero Madrid.

Ginkgo Sky Bar at the VP Plaza España Design Hotel (Plaza de España, 5)

One of the rooftops in Madrid in 2018 with more style, and not as expensive as it might seem. For around € 10 you can enjoy a signature cocktail and the best views of the Plaza de España. There is a lot of entertainment at all hours, but surely the sunset time will be one of the busiest times. On Wednesday nights it transforms into a jazz bar and from Thursday to Sunday they have live music. There’s always a good plan there.

The full-fledged “cats” of Madrid also enjoy the hotels of the city, especially if they are as great as this one. Of all the rooftops in Madrid in 2018, this one has the closest environment. It’s like the roof of that lucky friend who lives in the center of the city, but with a foodtruck. You heard correctly: there is a van on the top floor of the building with international street food to eat with your hands. Not to be missed.

La Cocina de San Antón (calle de Augusto Figueroa, 24)

A total in Chueca, but always at the top because this terrace is very tiny. It comes in handy to get away from the heat of Madrid’s asphalt and cool off with a cool cocktail. It’s the most glamorous space of all the food markets of the city, and on summer nights it’s always at its best. In addition, you have a variety of tapas prepared with ingredients from San Antón Market itself, to eat surrounded by beautiful people.

Sky Lounge at the Indigo Hotel (calle de Silva, 6)

It seems incredible that a hotel of this size has such a spectacular rooftop. And I’m not exaggerating, just take a look at the photo above so you can see how cool it is. It’s not as busy as other hotels on Gran Vía in Madrid, and I like that. Although the infinity pool on the 11th floor is for customers only, it refreshes the terrace on the top floor. An ideal microclimate to watch the sunset from one of the most exclusive rooftops in Madrid in 2018.

Restaurante Séptima del Only YOU Atocha (Paseo de la Infanta Isabel, 13)

Both in this hotel and in the Only YOU Boutique there is always something interesting related to your YOUniverse initiative: art exhibitions, fashion shows or their delicious brunch for those who are guests and those who aren’t. And when the good weather arrives, you can also have a drink and enjoy the Panoramic Drinks Sessions, with live music. One of the rooftops in Madrid in 2018 from which you can see half the city, but in which there are always interesting plans.

La Terraza Magnética en La Casa Encendida (Ronda de Valencia, 2)

Now that Gaudeamus Café has closed, the roof of La Casa Encendida is one of the best places in Lavapiés to see the sky. Because the streets of the neighborhood are cool, but sometimes you have to clear your eyes. And I don’t know how to tell you, but their concerts for € 5 and screenings for € 3 are a cultural bet for the most economic, and cool! Of course, they are no secret. You can already watch their programming or you’ll be left out.

TERRAZA-DEL-HOTEL-EMPERADOR-G

Terraza del hotel Emperador (Gran Vía, 53)

One of the most mythical hotels of the Gran Vía also has one of the most stunning rooftops in Madrid. Many “beautiful people” frequent it and not without reason: swimming pool, solarium, Balinese beds and a huge pool that seems incredible in the center. And that you can also enjoy even if you are not staying at the hotel from Monday to Thursday for a whole day for €46. That you do not want to be soaked? From its Cocktail Bar the views are spectacular.

The Principal (calle Marqués de Valdeiglesias, 1)

I’m not going to cheat you, a space as exclusive as the hotel The Principal is not the cheapest. But it’s one of the best rooftops in Madrid in 2018, and probably over the next few years. And the views of the Círculo de Bellas Artes and the Metrópolis building are unique. The experience is not cheap, since the soft drinks cost € 5 and the cocktails cost € 15. What’s certain is that it’s a very special and select environment, which can also be reserved for the most exclusive events.

The sky of Madrid is one of its great attractions, no matter how much pollution there is. Therefore, my list of terraces en Madrid does not stop growing. If you follow me on social networks or sign up for my newsletter, you will not be out of the game. Enjoy the sun and the good weather!
