Miga Bakery. Breakfast at Nuevos Ministerios to take on the day.

You know mothers say that everyone should eat a good breakfast. I don’t know if mothers of Miga Bakery’s boys tell them the same thing, but the truth is that to this bakery at Nuevos Ministerios, breakfast is a very serious thing ;-)

You can prepare at home a tasty breakfast which become brunch, but let’s face it. It isn’t true that you don’t often prepare it just because you have to do it? Making coffee, go buying the croissants, squeezing orange juice… I’m the first with a terrible laziness and just perpetuating one of my favorite hobbies: breakfast away from home.

Whether you have a day off and have decided to enjoy Madrid or you are staying in a hotel at the Paseo de la Castellana, one must gather strength. Yes, I know that sometimes you wake up in the morning, you take a coffee just to wake up a bit and go to work the race. I mean those other days when you own your time and want to afford yourself a luxury.

When I had time and I was in the area of Parque de Santander, I took the opportunity to stop by Miga Bakery, a small cafe with own its own bakery. A freshly made chocolate Neapolitan is priceless. Now I have breakfast even less at home because they’ve opened another branch in Raimundo Fernandez Villaverde Street very close to my home. It tooks me less time down to breakfast in the new Miga Bakery, which is right next to the new Zara flag store in Nuevos Ministerios, that making it in my home.

New branch with more light, more spacious, more buns and healthy menus to lunch. It wasn’t eating, that time my goal was different: charge batteries for a long long day, those that beyond breakfast time the day will be crazy. You can choose sitting next to the large window overlooking the street or catching a site at the back, with the green courtyard and enjoying a bit of calm.

I always sit at the table that I like best picking up a magazine or newspaper to leaf through while breakfast. The more I read the menu, more hungry I get.

This time I ordered a latte, a “Barrita con tomate” and ham, “Napolitana de chocolate” (it’s like pain au chocolat)and Orange juice. A truly Spanish breakfast. It’s real Iberian ham, with virgin olive oil and fresh bread made for themselves. In addition they bring two big slices. In addition, with orange juice a great combination.

The good thing of having breakfast at a bakery is that pastry is made on the day. And of course, the chocolate croissant was soft, still warm and delicious. Completed with good coffee with milk, a perfect end to a good breakfast.
